Common theory questions

When is your car considered to be parked?

You may stop the car without it being considered as parked for the following reasons:

  • To let a passenger get in or out of the car.
  • To load or unload goods (for example, moving boxes or bags of groceries).
  • To avoid danger.
  • If traffic conditions so require (for example, if there is a traffic jam or bridge opening).

If you stop for any other reason, your car is considered to be parked. It is, for example, not allowed to stop where parking is prohibited to wait for a passenger to arrive.
