Common theory questions

How should you turn the wheels after you have parked your car uphill on a road with a kerb?

After you have parked your car uphill on a road with a kerb you should turn the wheels to the left, engage the parking brake and leave the gear stick in first gear (position P if your car has an automatic transmission).

If the brakes fail the front of the car will roll backwards in the direction of the front wheels. This means that the car will roll backwards towards the kerb and hopefully stop when the tyres hit the kerb.
