When are you allowed to use the hard shoulder?

You are allowed – but not required – to use the hard shoulder for shorter distances to let faster vehicles overtake you and during the last stretch before turning right into another road.

Note that you are not allowed to drive a car on the hard shoulder if the edge line is solid.
